Parent and student education

The problem

There's some serious change management involved.

Your stakeholders are students, teachers, aides, parents, school leaders, and others.

And schools don't always have great communication with parents.

Sometimes parents see something new and think, "new thing, bad," and reject it outright. Then the students reject it. Then the teachers start feeling like maybe they're doing something harmful to kids.

And sometimes the whole transition falls apart.

So how do you help everyone understand this newfangled grading system before that happens?

How educators have handled it

Different schools, different approaches. None of these is the one right answer.

Somebody out there has figured this one out — or at least tried something worth hearing about. It could be you.

Have you figured something out?

Have you found a way to make this work? Other educators would love to hear about it.

Share what worked

Sometimes the best way to solve a problem is to talk to someone who's already worked through it.
